About the Journal

Arwana: Jurnal Ilmiah Program Studi Perairan (Arwana: Scientific Journal of Aquatic Sciences) is an OJS 3 journal published by the Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Almuslim University, Bireuen Medan with the number p-ISSN 2657-0254 (print), e-ISSN 2797-3530 (online) and accredited Sinta 2 (Number 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025). Articles published in this journal are the results of research by lecturers and students in the fields of Aquaculture and Fisheries and were published for the first time on May 30, 2019 using OJS 2. Arwana Journal publishes two editions each year, in May and November each year. Every journal published goes through a double-blind review process in the process of reviewing an article to be presented where an article is assessed by two reviewers who do not know the identity of the author. Arwana is an article in the form of research results, and conceptual articles covering fisheries science fisheries, namely: Aquaculture, Fisheries Resources, Fisheries Socio-Economics, Fisheries Technology, Fisheries and Marine Biology.

Uniform

The uniform is the main element that enhances the identity, order and cohesiveness of the school. The following rules must be followed when using the uniform.

Boys (1-9)

  • The hair should be cut short and combed to the side. (Side part hair 1/2 inch long)
  • The top part of the hair is 2 inches long. The side of the head and the top of the head should not be visible separately.
  • The school logo should be sewn to the right and top corners of the pocket.
  • The tip of the hand is 4 inches from the rim to the elbow.
  • The end of the torso section should be 2 1/2 inches from the zipper border.
  • The distance between the bottom edge of the pants and the knee is 2 inches.
  • Wear black socks and black shoes.

Wearing watches for uniform is strictly prohibited.

Boys (10-13)

  • The hair should be cut short and combed to the side. (Side part hair 1/2 inch long)
  • The top part of the hair is 2 inches long. The side of the head and the top of the head should not be visible separately.
  • The school logo should be sewn to the right and top corners of the pocket.
  • The school logo should be worn in the left pocket of the shirt.
  • Wear a black waist belt.
  • The color of the shoes should be black and different styles of shoes should not be worn.
  • The shirt should not be less than 4 inches from the elbow.
  • The back pocket of the pants should be on the right side.
  • The bottom edge of the pants should be at shoe level and should not be worn in a high-waisted manner.
  • The bottom edges of the pants should be parallel.

Wearing watches for uniform is strictly prohibited.

Girls (1-13)

  • The hair should be split in half so that it looks good in the middle of the head.
  • The school logo should be sewn to the right edge of the pocket.
  • The elbow border is the waistline of the gown.
  • The hem of the gown should be located at the lower limit of the knee.
  • Wear white socks and white shoes.
  • The hair should be neatly combed so that it does not cover the ears.
  • The hair should be split in two.
  • The waistband should not exceed 2 inches.

The Poson Poya Day Celebration of Wickramashila National School, Giriulla was held on 26 June 2026, with great devotion and reverence, commemorating the historic introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka by Arahat Mahinda Thero.

The school community, including students, teachers, and staff, came together to observe this sacred occasion through a series of religious and cultural activities that promoted the values of compassion, wisdom, discipline, and generosity. The program featured devotional offerings, Dhamma discussions, Bakthi Gee performances, and reflections on the significance of Poson, inspiring students to embrace the timeless teachings of the Buddha in their daily lives.

The school premises were beautifully decorated with Poson lanterns, Buddhist flags, and traditional ornaments, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. The Battle of the Greens 2026, the grand annual cricket encounter between Wickramashila National School, Giriulla and D. S. Senanayake Central College, Mirigama, was held on 5 April 2026 amid tremendous excitement and school spirit.

This prestigious big match brought together players, students, teachers, old boys, and supporters from both schools in a celebration of cricket, friendship, and tradition. From the first ball to the final over, the match showcased determination, discipline, and outstanding sportsmanship.
